I am running Maximiser 7 and MaxLink 7. I am trying to link my address entries to my new palm, Tungsten T3 running OS 5.2.1. I can hotsynch other documemts, word and excell, without any problems. After selecting address in Maxlink and hitting the hotsynch button, no synching occurs, no error message, nothing. Any ideas?

Palm changed the version of the Palm Desktop that ships with the new Tungsten T3/E devices. These devices ship with Palm Desktop version 4.1.2, which is not supported by MaxLink. If you look at your conduits, you'll notice that there are no Max conduits despite the MaxLink software being installed.

Learned this one the hard way.

Consult their supported products page for a list of devices that work.

Jake,
Your are right about the version of Palm Desktop. None of the Maximiser Conduit options were listed.

I downloaded the latest patch from http://www.multiactive.com/support/downloads.html
Maximiser Link 7 Service release 2.
This created the Maximiser conduits under Hotsynch. I can hotsynch address book entries but cannot turn of the conduits or amend them, they are fixed on "Synchronise the files". I had to turn off synching, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, and Memo, in order to get it to work.

I cannot hotsynch the palm without it always synching my Maximiser files, even when all I wish to do is download some new software or update a document.

Today I keep getting error messages and hotsynch closing down after loading all addresses, over 2000. So it does not get around to synching all the other data on the palm. Very frustrating. Mad

Robert.

Yeah i have problems with my boss's tungstan C and Maximizer.
I have installed Maxlink service release 2 and it works better but the only problem we have now is the address book.
Only the company names are hotsyncing and not peoples names.
So you call up on the palm the company you want to contact but there is no contact name.
I have found a fix on the maximizer knowledge base. You have to install maxlink on the pc in safe mode or something? i have'nt tried it yet but it strikes me how they can't get this to install properly and function for the normal lame brain.

I use a type of "maxlink" with my accounting package MYOB and it works a treat.

hope this helps

I seem to be getting somewhere now, When I synch my updates from the palm to the desktop I only select the address entries that have been modified. Then I select them in Maxlink, delete them from the left hand box, close Maxlink save current configuration, re-open Maxlink and Hotsynch. I have Maximiser open and have selected the appropriate addresses.

None of this is detailed in the manual. It should not be that complicated.

Another gripe. Why can we not choose which category to send the address entries. The option is there on the palm to set different categories and a very usefull option it is. You would imagine that a dialogue box would open on the Maxlink asking for the category you would like to synch to? Or am I missing something.

I'm not sure I understand the confusion. MaxLink will create a category on your Palm with the same name as your Max address book. If your Max address book is named "MyClients2003", there will be a category on your Palm created with the same name.

There's no way to specify that your want your "MyClients2003" Maximizer address book to synch with the "Personal" category on the Palm. It's done automatically and I don't think there's any way to change it.
