i cannot back up. the backup always hangs at the same point (documents and templates 52). if i knew how to access that document i would try to delete it. is there any way of fixing this file.

Maybe try logging into Administrator and try:

File > Address Book Verification > Verify and Recover

The software might be able to fix the fault for you.

Probably, although you would likely lose the document in question but you have already indicated that you could live with that. However, a description of the process is beyond the scope of this forum. Ask your Maximizer Business Partner for assistance.
