Hi,

I have set up an email campaign based on a template, what do I do to actually send the emails? The campaign states that it is in progress but is not actually doing anything?

Thanks,

Mandy.

If the campaign is just sitting there and not completing or failing then you probably do not have the service started (maximizer email service) if it is started do you have your email server configured to allow relaying from the machine that hosts the email service. Did you even create some emails and attach them to a campaign?

Three steps, Create the emails, Create the Campaign template (what emails sent when) create your campaign with subscribers.

I've read the manual, created the email, created the campaign with associated addresses, tested the emails, checked configuration and it is still stuck in In Progress mode.

Things did work last night, but not earlier in the day. I checked with ISP - no issues there. Outlook email working fine. I have tried it with firewall and antivirus turned off and on.

So now what?

Well, the Campaign Manager does not interface with your email program at all. The Campaign Manager uses the Maximixer Email Service, which connects directly to your SMTP server, completely bypassing your email program.

If you're using Enterprise 7.5 or earlier, the Maximizer Email Service does not provide for SMTP authentication, so if your ISP requires you to send a username/password when sending an outgoing email, this may be the cause of the problems. Enterprise 8 supports SMTP authentication.
