I'm trying to move my address book from my old machine to my new one, naturally I've installed Max 8 on my new machine!
I've backed up my address book & transferred teh back up file to my new machine; when I try to restore back up in Administrator it says that the address book is not compatable with this version of Max despite the fact that I only have one version! I've copied the entire Maximiser folder across to my new machine (doc & settings/all users/application data/maximiser/address books/name of my address book) and tried to open the address book; whilst Max 8 recognises the fact that the address book exists it just won't open! Surely I'm not looking to do anything too difficult am I? Can anyone please help? |

Have you verified that you are using the exact same version of Maximizer on the new machine as the old one? Look at Help > About, and look at the Series and the Build Number: These need to be Identical. If your old machines series is higher than the new one, that means you need to install the patches onto the new machine to bring it up to the same version.

Gary,
When you have copied all the files across have a look in the folder you've put them in for a file called ~pvsw~.loc, if it exists then delete it. Then try opening the database again. |
