we have an xp system with exchange server outlook 2003 all up to date. Maximiser will keep crashing on us! I have tried my local chap but he seems to just accept the crashes (and perhaps I should too!)
Ive attached a typical crash. any ideas? maximiser_crashes.pdf (83 Kb, 69 downloads) PDF of screen print of msoft error message |

Can't help you on the tech side but can tell you that you should not accept crashes. We run on XP Pro under a Terminal Services environment and don't crash (mind you, that's Max 7, not 8).
A note to your "local guy" and Maximizer themselves if they're reading this - CRASHES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE!!! They're bound to occur with newer product or in exotic environments, but other than that either there is a problem the developer hasn't fixed yet (hear that, Maximizer?!?!?!?) or you're using it in the wrong environment or the support person doesn't know what they're doing. Those are the three avenues I'd explore to iron out these crashes - and I would NOT accept crashes. The people who pay money for Max are business people paying for business results - that doesn't include defective product or incompetent support. I have sold and implemented a LOT of software in my time -"accepting" defects is a sickness in the software business. Just to soften the above rant, I do like Max the product, especially compared to some of the competition. I just get frustrated at times that Maximizer Inc. doesn't support the product as they should - they'd kick some ass in the marketplace if they did. I hate seeing business opportunities pissed away ... sigh ... And now I will get off my soap box. - R. |

Thanks for the comments.. As far as I am aware we have a bog standard system so I dont understand why we are still crashing. Ive refused to pay the supplier part of his fee until I get some further answers but suspect we are stuck with the rather shaky platform 8 seems to provide.
