Hello,

We use Maximizer 9 and recently we upgraded our Office suite from Office 2003 to Office 2007. When our use goes to some Documents that are Linked, they Open... others come up with an error:

"File extension ",doc" has no associated executable"

Any idea???

Michael

The default extension for Office 2007 is .docx which may not be detected properly by Maximizer. It may only be looking at the first three characters. docx is a different format. You could change the default in Word to save files as .doc.

I was thinking this too but we just upgraded the Office app a couple weeks ago ahd the error is showing on a Doc that was Linked last Feburary (before the Upgrade)... which has a ".DOC " extension.

So the Doc that it is trying too Open but can't, is indeed a ".DOC" extension...

I tried some other Doc's to Open in the Address Book that are connected to other users in the address book and they work, but there is some now that are getting the error i mentioned...

any idea?

Michael

While I can't tell without looking at it, I can suggest a couple of things to try.
Can you open the file directly with Word? How about with the Maximizer word processor? with notepad? If it is only one file, I would suspect a corruption of some kind.

Good Morning,

In the very first post in this thread you say that the error you are recieving is:

"File extension ",doc" has no associated executable"

Now is this a mistype or do you acutally mean "," because if that is the case then it would seem to be that the file has been saved with an invalid extension.

I think a good test to carry out would be to right click on the document record and choose 'Save document As' from the menu, then save the file out of Maximizer onto your computer and see if you can open it after you've saved it.
