I'm using MaxEnt8 (series 1444). I can search (Add or Replace) on an UDF alphanumeric field using either an unique value or range of values just fine. But, when I then try to narrow the search, no records are returned.

I've tried to Backup/Restore in case there was a corrupted file, but that didn't help.

Any suggestions?

I dunno, it works for me. Confused

You could try doing an Address Book Verification (from the Administrator module). If that doesn't help then you could also try creating a new empty address book and transferring your records into it to see if that makes a difference....

Hi Gord
Appreciate your help. It must be this one Address Book as it does work with other Address Books on my system. I've tried the Verification in Administrator, but that comes up clean. Also, tried a Backup followed by Restore, and just finished trying the transfer to a new Address Book. None of that worked.

Any idea if there might be a Address book size limit involved here? This particular Address Book has over 50,000 records and better than 600k UDF's.
Thanks, Mike

It seems unlikely, but if you contact Maximizer and tell them about this they might be able to offer a more authoritative answer.

It may be worth checking the setting on you Maximum Number of Entries to Return box. This is the small box at the bottom of the search form that says 100,500,1000,2000,All.

You can't change the setting once you have click 'Narrow List' but Maximizer pay attention to this setting when it is searching. So if it is set to 100 it will only run the narrow criteria on the first 100 records in the current list.

You should change the setting to 'All' before swapping the search type to Narrow list.

Hi Gord
Appreciate your continued support. I did have the max records returned set to "All".

Today I tried exporting/importing the records to a new Address Book, thinking that doing the conversion through straight ASCII would strip off any bad control codes that might be in the file. Same problem with the new database.

Even went so far as to uninstall/reinstall Max, but that didn't help either.

Any idea how to contact Max technical support? Couldn't find an e-mail address for tech support. The only phone number they have listed is a toll call; on the web site they mentioned wait times up to 40 minutes.

Thanks,
Mike
