Have you tried creating a new address book on the new computer with exactly the same name as the one you have on your old PC and then once that's done then do a restore of the address book? I think that might work.

Good Morning, The reason you are seeing the Restore function grey'd out is because you are logged into a Database. Close Maximizer (if open) and in the Administrator click File>>Close Address book. From there you can go to the utilities menu and the restore function will be available.

Good Afternoon, Yes you should create a new blank address book to restore into, just make sure that after creating it you click File>>Close Address Book again. The restore files can be placed anywhere on your local PC.

Hi,
I am faced with the same problem except I am using Max 8. I installed Max 8 on my new laptop. Copied the Maximizer folder containing "AddrsBks" over to the new laptop.
I have created another address book USInstitutions. Now, I have taken the copied Max 8 folder and pasted it to /allusers/Maximizer.
When I created the new address book, I pointed it to the folder /allusers/Maximizer.
When I click on open address book it shows the path, which I point to "AddrBks" containing the folder for the address book USInstitutions. Nothing happens.
Am I supposed to back up Maximizer on my old PC? Well, I've done that. And I have copied the back up over to the new laptop. I tried pointing to the directory for the back up and nothing happens. The restore menu still shows no records.
Could someone please show this dummy a step by step approach?
A sheepish thanks to all.
