I am running Maximizer 7 with SP3 and Pervasive 2000i with SP4 and I receive the following message when I click VIEW|ALL ADDRESS BOOK ENTRIES:

"Address Book Entry Identification 021119431223264901351C could not be found. Your Maximizer address book may be damaged."
Please contact your Database Administrator.

As suggested in Maximizer.com’s support site, I have tried backing up the address book and doing a restore as well as backing up the whole database and then doing a restore. Neither has worked as far as resolving the error.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can resolve this issue?

Thanks

In the golden age of Maximimizer you had to turn off the 'System Creates Address ID's' feature and create dummy records with the reported missing ID. This would reattach the orphaned records to the new dummy records. This was long and tedious but lucky for you, Max 7 is being used and there is this wonderful feature in the Administrator module called 'Database Validation' its under the file menu. This feature will scan your database and attach all records to a new record called 'Recovered Record # xxx' It will do this for your Address Book, Opportunities and Company Library. Now they are recovered delete them again or change the name of Recovered record to a valid company name. TA DA

I have a similar problem - however maybe I am going mad, but I see no such option in the Administrator module under file to validate the database!

In the Administrator module under file. Last option above exit, only available in Maximizer Enterprise 7.0 or 7.5

OK - but no such option in Maximizer 7; how can you validate a database in Maximizer 7? or how can you remove the error as resotring, backing up etc has no effect.

I did not see that option either. But the way I fixed it was by doing the full backup, and then I restored it to a different directory just in case I made a mistake.
Then I did a search on the live database for each Address Book ID that could not be found, it would generally pull it up with a contact name and no other data.
I would then check the database for the name of the orphaned Address Book ID, if it existed I deleted the orphaned one that was causing the error. Fortunately all of them were still there. I no longer have the problem and as far as I can tell I lost no data, but I still have the backup just in case.

Hope this helps.

If you don't have Maximizer Enterprise 7 or 7.5 you will not have the validate and recover feature. However, you can still fix it the old fashioned way. Write down the Client ID number that is popping up. Temporarily turn off the "System to assign Address Book ID numbers" option under system defaults. Now create a new company and add the ID number that you copied as this records ID number. Whatever orphaned record you found will now attach to that company you just made. Don't forget to turn back on "System to assign Address Book ID numbers"
