I'm looking at alternative options to MaxExchange because calander function needs to be on-line at all times between offices.

Anybody had experience of running client/server Max Enterprise across a WAN? Will users ouside the LAN that the btrieve engine sits on have requester problems? What is the suggested minimum bandwidth for a decent performance across a WAN?

For info the system is a high spec full NT enviroment (server and clients). Each LAN is 100MB to desktop and Max is launched from local drive.

WAN links will go to over 45MB but short term what is the minimum bandwidth for a decent performance?

Also anybody using Citrix and Terminal server with Max? How is that option and can you get full functionality including links to Word, email, etc.

We have found using citrix or win2000 terminal server an excellent way of remote working, even over a 56k modem its livable (ISDN is best) Word, email (we use exchange) will need to be on the citrix box, you will need to use either RDP5 (Win2000) or Citrix Metaframe/winframe so that local printers are mapped correctly (RDP4 winNT Terminal Server does not support remote printer mapping)

We have found our citrix box better than terminal server (but alot of this is our own comments as we've all grown up with citrix in our department )

Performance is really down to your citrix box, as long as security is bolted down all should be okay, we preffer this to using MaxExchange.
