After opening max clicking on the email tab causes an "appcrash"!!!! Desperately needing help. I have had all tech's from max looking at this without a positive result.

Ive had similar issues. Thankfully I dont use Outlook integration, and merely unistalled the Outlook addin through running Setup again. I would recommend this option unless you specifically use this feature. Office 10 is very new, and I presume a hot fix will be released soon.
