Because I have been a long time Max user I have been asked to troubleshoot an install of Max 10.5. Staff member who installed Max a couple of weeks ago is no longer with the company. The install is Group version. Workstations three. Maxexchange is being used and appears to be going through the motions but the data is not being exchanged. I don't know what the settings should be in order to properly troubleshoot. Network is wireless. Network has some problems, patches missing, long outdated virus protection and other hardware/software issues. Q1. Are there step by step directions for setting up MaxExchange I could refer to? Q2. The server was installed first, and the workstation install was copied over from the server and not installed directly from the workstation install CD--does that make a difference?

Good Morning, Max Exchange installation and configuration is a complicated process and can be quite difficult to get right. There are no step by step instructions on how to do it as Maximizer recommend it is installed and configured only by a Maximizer Certified Consultant. As for the installation, the copy of the files placed in the MxServer share are identical to those on the Workstation CD so installing from there is unlikely to be a problem. I would strongly suggest you contact your Maximizer Business Partner and discuss with them getting a consultant to look at your Max Exchange installation and configuration.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Because Max was installed by the staff member, I will have to find a partner from Max head office.
