Customer Service Description Field truncated when merging to a document

Using Maximizer 12 Group Summer Edition with SQL Express

I have just encountered a problem whereby the Customer Service description field is truncated to 255 characters when you merge this into an external document. Naturally, within Maximizer, this is freeform field where you can type quite an essay. Why would the merge be restricted to 255 characters when naturally you would want the whole description that has been entered into the Customer Service case?

I assume this can be fixed somehow modifying the properties of the appropriate field within the sql database?

Anyone else encountered this and/or fixed it?
