I have been using Maximizer for years and have upgraded my data from version to version. Today I have around 11,000 companies in the database and when I do a quick back up the "transaction control" number show a number like 75000 this takes forever to backup. Is there a way that I can clear that file?

Try backing up and then immediately doing a restore. That'll compress and clean up your data. Iris

I have now tried the backing up and quickly restoring. That did not work. I forget one of the "o"'s on how many transaction control files there are. It took forever and a day to restore the 750,000 transaction control files. Any other thoughts?

If you aren't using MaxExchange to synchronize your address book with another machine then you can simply delete the transaction file (MXZTRAN.MAX) from your address book folder. (Proceed at your own risk, do a full backup first, don't have Maximizer open while you do it, think happy thoughts, etc.) If you are using MaxExchange then get a Business Partner (or Maximizer Support) to help you.

Wahooooo that did it! Thanks so much. I was a good little feller and just moved the file instead of deleting it. (Being a dutchman we do not throw anything away). Thanks for solving a problem that I ahve been dealing with for over 5 years!
