I followed a short thread regarding Web Forms from about a year ago. Has anyone figured out how to get these to work. I haven't and wouldn't mind hearing from others as the past threads indicated it was quite a battle and the end hadn't been seen in the last thread.

Hi, John.

The consensus has been that the webserver component for IIS (winqcgi.exe) works as-is. The corresponding component for Unix/Linux servers (winqcgi.pl) may require a little tweaking, depending on how the webserver has been configured. I have gotten both to work.

So, it boils down to what type of webserver you (or your ISP) will be using.
  • If it is an IIS (Windows) server, then simply following the instructions should do it.

  • If it is a Unix/Linux server, then take a look at the corresponding Perl/CGI configuration notes in that same document. If you think you'll need help with them you should ask a Maximizer Business Partner (or perhaps your ISP) for assistance.

Hello There,

Actually, I did urn into a problem with winqcgi.exe. The problem is outlined in the support quote <http://maxtalk.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/132605203/m/5371051751>.

It would be great if you could help.

Thanks

I too explored implementing webforms using the Maximizer's built-in utility along with some discussions with my ISP. That is, until I came across MyOnline Forms. For what they charge and the ease that their webform creation tool allows us to create forms on the fly I honestly don't think I'll spend anymore time trying to get Maximizer's to work.

FWIW!

astragale: Maybe you need to register a web service extension for winqcgi.exe. The general procedure is outlined here.

Hello there Gord,

Indeed, the problem was that simple, and now it works fine. Thanks a million... I feel silly not to have caught this post in the Maximizer knowledge base.

As for the other issues that I was faced with, I actually got them resolved as well, so all is well.

Thanks again,

Astragale...
