I have been running Maximizer 97is on a Novell client/server network. I recently upgraded to Enterprise and Maximizer customer support has informed me (after much troubleshooting) that it cannot run that way and needs to be run peer to peer. We have been able to get one of the workstations working, but the workstation with the data files on the local drive gets a "Program has performed an illegal operation" with details of "MaxWin caused an invalid pagefault in module W3AIF104. I have hours and hours with Maximizer Customer Support and they are unable or unwilling to come up with a solution. I have also loaded the Pervasive Control Center on both workstations in an attempt to help Maximizer troublshoot my problem. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Mmm.. You say you were running Client server btrieve originally.. so let me just check.. Did you used to have an NLM loaded for btrieve on the server? This was a good and normally very reliable configuration for btrieve 6.15

If you are now running Enterprise 2000 and were using an NLM then you should have purchased an upgrade for the NLM to provide Pervasive.SQL 2000 for Netware Client/server support. (this is the upgrade for client server btrieve 6.15)

If you don't have this item you will have to run the Workgroup version of Pervasive.SQL 2000 as advised by Multiactive. This effectively uses a PC (not necesarrily the one with the data on) as the database server engine.

I'm not immedeatley familiar with the crash "MaxWin caused an invalid pagefault in module W3AIF104." that you quote though its probably worth reviewing some of the GPF causes on the support knowledgebase at www.pervasive.com At a guess you've most probably got some kind of file version problem. Have you tried putting the the workgroup gateway on another PC? (preferably one thats not in general use). If you really can't get rid of the problem then a clean built Windows PC is probably the best starting point. If it crashes we need to look at your network configuration and/or the database files themselves.

Perhaps if you like to comment on the above I may be able to get you a little further.
