How can I know the path of the documents in Maximizer? Can I extract the documents related data from the Maximizer? Thanks for any replies.
I am using Maximizer 7.0. |

A couple of questions :
1) Are you talking about documents embedded in the database or external documents that have been linked in? 2) What "related data" are you looking for, and what are you trying to do with it? This will help us understand how to reply. Thanks - R. |

Thank you!
1) I mean both embeded documents and external documents. 2) The ralated information is: the name of the document (in Maximizer), which company or individual this document belong to, type of the document, etc.. Thanks again. |

This is beyond my expertise as a user. I would suggest either Maximizer themselves or a Business Partner. If you do a search on here you may find some ideas on where to proceed if you look for database views, file/table structure/definitions etc.

Prior to version 9 all documents, both embedded and linked, are stored as OLE package objects within the address book "Letters" file (MXZL.MAX). Access to the documents outside of the Maximizer user interface is *not* a trivial exercise.
That said, some Business Partners have built tools to manipulate documents. For example, see the reference to "Linked Document Mover" and "Document Extraction" on http://www.cabc.co.uk/download/other_projects.htm (Disclaimer: I don't work for CABC and I have not used either of the tools mentioned.) |

And what about Max version 9? How/where are they stored now?

They are stored in the same place (i.e., inside the "Letters" file/table), but they don't have the OLE wrapper applied any more. Now they are just BLOBs corresponding to the file contents (if embedded) or the file path (if linked). Note that documents from v8 and earlier will remain as OLE objects after converting the address book to v9. However, documents added after the conversion will be stored in the new "OLE-free" format. |
