I am using Maximizer3.0is and I created a new database for several users to access. I can open the database but it does not appear in anyone else's 'Available Databases' list. The database is stored a server and accessed via a mapped drive. All NT permissions are set correctly. Do I have to do something to 'publish' the existence of the database to other users??
Any ideas guys? |

Hi Insmax
Can I just check that you have opened up the new database on each users machine, as a new address book folder with the correct path? Polly |

Hi Insmax
To open the new database on each users pc please do the following: Go File/ New Address Book then name the database and browse to where you have stored the data. This should do it. Polly |

Hi,
There is no 'Open Address book' option in the file men. The first is 'New Database', that creates a new database, over-writing a current databse if it exists in the same location. The second is 'Open Database' that displays a list of available databases. On my machine I can see the new database in this list, but on any other machine i cannot. The database was created on a shared network drive, not my machine, and all the other users can browse to that shared drive. I'm think that normally a new database appears in the list of available databases automatically so maybe something went wrong when i created the database? I'm using version 3.0is |

INSMAX:
The 'New Database' option WILL NOT OVERWRITE the existing database. When you browse to the location and click ok Max will tell you that files already exist here, do you want to use them?. Say yes/ok. It will then simply open your network database on that machine. |
