I am using Max Ent 8 and Crystal Reports. Within the Opportunity Section of Max we have created Date UDF Fields and wish to display them using Crystal and use the data contained within each Date UDF for other Formula based calculations.

As per my earlier posting a couple of days ago that GORD addressed, there is no problem with linking Table AMGR_Opportunity to the View O_Date Field and I can see the data displayed OK using Crystal. The problem appears to be caused by the View Date Data being displayed as a String and not Date Formatted.

As a result, the O_Data Field data is displayed as 2005.09.05 (ie a String) and cannot be date formatted to eg. 05 September 2005. Further more O_Data Field data is displayed as 2005.09.05 cannot be used in a formula (as a date) to be compared with other pertinent information such as Create date and Close Date, etc.

Q1 - Is there another way I can extract the UDF Date Data in a Date Formatted Form ?

Q2 - If the answer to Q1 is no, is there a conversion process (under Crystal) I can deploy that converts String Data such as 2005.09.05 to a Date Formatted form ?

Looking forward to anyone's feedback by return.

Iris: That article refers to the Maximizer ODBC driver. ME8 Crystal uses the SQL ODBC driver.

bwilliams: Create a formula field like this...

CDate(Replace({O_OPP_DATE_1.O_OPP_DATE_1},".","-"))

...and then use it in place of the actual field from the UDF view.

Gord

Your a class act. The formula to convert worked fine.

Again, very well done.
