We're using Max. 7 and received a series of error messages today (Data Manager Error 132, file reached size limit; OLE returned an error code of 16389, failed to create file; OLE ITF returned error 340 failed to create) - the events are below... any insight & remedy you can give would be very appreciated, thank you.

Tried to add PDF docs in Max records, got error message: 'Data Manager Error 132, file reached size limit'
- Clicked OK and could proceed
- Once the PDFs were saved, immediately got this error message: 'OLE returned an error code of 16389, failed to create file'.
- The saved documents would not open and when we tried, this error showed up: 'OLE ITF returned error 340 failed to create.'
- To see if it was an issue with the actual record, we tried creating a new record for & re-adding the notes, but the same thing occurred as above

At least 5 users opened various PDFs in Max and got Data Manager Error 132

After clicking OK the PDF would open, then message came up about 4-5 more times. After clicking OK on the last one, Maximizer shut down on its own (kicked us out)

- Also, error 132 file has reached its size limit pops up when clicking on an Address Book entry or performing a search

- Cannot save emails to a record as we normally could (via "send email" rather than "write email")

- Cannot add documents to the Retail Company Library (error 132 file has reached its size limit pops up)

Emma,

You are receiving this error because you have reached the maximum allowed file size for at least one of the Maximizer files in your database.

I would strongly suggest you do not attempt to add any more documents or other data to your Maximizer system and that you immediately contact your Maximizer business partner (if you do not have one then contact Maximizer software and they can notify you of the nearest partners) for assistance resolving the error.

Do you have any thoughts as to the theory on this site: http://www.mofeel.net/243-comp...ses-btrieve/473.aspx

We have a page size of 1024 (1K) - as per this web page, that allows us a main file plus 7 "extents" (extension files?); then it stops growing. We have that with MXZL.MAX(the file that holds documents).

We'd like to change the page size to 4K and Maximizer has provided the steps to do this to our support partner. Just wanted to get another perspective on this if possible... thanks for your help.

Yes this should be possible to do, it sounds like your database has been upgraded from an old version of Maximizer that did not have the same maximum file size as the version you are currently running.

Your partner should be able to do this work for you, however I'd be prepared for it to take a while, copying around that much data and reorganising the files to the new page size can take a long time.

I would also suggest that you give some serious consideration to moving to a newer MS SQL based version of Maximizer as you will not have to worry about storage limits (as long as you are not using Max 11 Entrepreneur or Group Edition), if price is an issue talk to your partner about the new Team edition of Maximizer as this edition has the capability to use an external SQL server for it's database and ask them if they can get you a price on SQL licenses via Maximizer as this will often be cheaper.

Thanks again for your help and advice. For anyone looking, I've attached the steps to change a page size in Maximizer. We went through this and found it successful.
