How many copies of Max have been sold? Judging by this forum I must be one of about a dozen. Very few answers to VERY few questions posed. Are there other Max forums somewhere where more people gather?

Can someone point me to a better place to discuss MAX 9.

Mr. Beckner,

Most of my questions have been answered promptly here. I consider it well worth the price I pay to subscribe. Smile

I don't know of any other forums. I'm sorry that we don't meet your traffic expectations. I think the signal:noise ratio is a far more important metric than total traffic, and this forum is quite good in that regard.

(For more on SNR, check out "Shannon's Theorem," named for Michigan alumnus Claude Shannon)

I appreciate your issue and have voiced the same question myself in the past. To be specific, before I focussed on this forum I tried to locate others and there was only 1 small Yahoo group that had died off. This is in spite of a very large number of installs (well over a dozen I can assure you!). Having said that, I think if you check the number of views of many posts you'll find the traffic is much higher than the number of replies would make it seem, and the expertise is quite impressive. So my response would be :

#1 - Your own regular participation would help solve the very problem you're asking about; Sometimes even a response that you haven't experienced the problem being described is enough to help someone solve an issue

#2 - Ask the Maximizer folks to participate, perhaps even encouraging them to point all new users to this forum; I worked for a very large software company for a number of years and one of our most powerful sales tools was the independent user group, so it's to everyone's advantage for activity here to increase

Having said that, welcome aboard, and welcome to Max!

- R.
