Windows XP crashed so badly that I had to purchase a new PC. I have reinstalled Maximizer 8 on my new PC. I have the saved (backed up) files from my old PC. How do I get the backup copy of my address book restored to my new installation?

Hi there, you restore a database through the interface in the Maximizer Administrator.
Create a new blank database (File>>New Address book). Then click File>>Close Address Book. You can then use the Restore function under the Utilities menu to restore your backup files into the new blank database. |

Thanks for your reply.
After following your instructions, DataManager returned an error code of 3012. "Local engine is not accessible to the MicroKernal router." I repeated the processing using a different address book name and received the same error code. I have uninstalled the application and installed it again with the same results. Where do I go from here? This message has been edited. Last edited by: LPG, |

Hi again, Error 3012 means that you have attempted a database operation before the database engine has finished loading.
Click the Start button the go to Programs>>Pervasive and look for an Engines sub folder, in there should be the options for Start and Stop Pervasive Database Engine. Ensure you have started the engine before attempting to restore the database. |
