Mine is 2.3Gb it does make updating the remote laptop a handfull sometimes but we are working on that.

Thanks

Assuming that you're talking about a Pervasive.SQL setup here, the maximum size of any data file in your Address Book database (i.e., MXZ*.MAX) is 64GB. In earlier versions the limit was 4GB, so people would occasionally hit that with their Documents file (MXZL.MAX).

mm yeah i have maximizer version 7 enterprise sql server etc.
The problem i am having is that i am trying to send a refresh to a latop remote and when the file was 2Gb it was ok now it is nearly 3Gb it generates a just over 1Gb refresh packet and the laptop maxexchange just can't cope.
I am saving the refresh to disk method.

By the way can you rename your database file directory?

Thanks

Point of interest: Regardless of whether your main database server is Pervasive.SQL or MS_SQL, your MaxExchange remotes are always Pervasive.SQL databases.

I have heard from others that very large refresh packets can cause problems. You might want to start by creating a small refresh packet, then mark your records and send them over to the remote in batches to keep the packet sizes down.

re: Renaming the database directory - not directly, but there is a workaround. Check out the topic entitled "Moving an Address Book" in Maximizer's help file.

One other option to consider if you are having issues with large packets is to set the Maximum Uncompressed Packet Size for the Max Exchange Site to around 200mb.

Max Exchange will then create extended files for each additional packet.
