We are having problems with the Intergrators Toolkit which we received with Max 6 Enterprise.

I have heard that this tool kit still relates to code in Max 5.5, so when trying to use it with v6 it fails / doesnt work at all.

Can anyone confirm? If this is the case then we have been sold an expensive lemon..

The Maximizer 6.0 toolkit is different to the 5.5 toolkit but is backwards compatible with earlier versions of Maximizer. Which part of the toolkit are you trying to use and what is the problem that you are having?

We are using the Integrators tool kit for Maximizer 6.0, even thought we are using code specified within the integrators manual, maximizer does not like some hooks.

example:

Created a UDF hook with our own designed interface and Maximizers specified code and Maximizer will not execute the DLL. Maximizer uses its own UDF interface even though we changed it and placed the UDF hook in C:\program files\maximizer\plug-ins\hooks\udf.dll.

We have heard from different sources that this integrators toolkit does use some Max 5.5 code, does this mean Max 6 may not recognise some of the code? or is this just a bug which Multiactive will be releasing a patch for?

We have search the Multiactive knowledge base (if you call it that) and there does not seem to have anything in there which will help developers overcome some of these problems.

The Toolkit states the following on page 123:

In order for your OLE automation server to be successfully called by Maximizer, certain criteria must be met.

1) You must create an OLE automation server object called Maximizer.UDFhook

2) You must install and register your DLL or EXE on the user's system.

Have you done this? Presumably your hook worked when you were developing it?

Yes, have done all pre-requisites.

Very weird but the hook worked on the 1st time of trying, but then never worked again..

This is the case with several that we have tried, and on different PC's..

We have not experienced any such problems.
Which operating system are you using?

Does it work all the time in debug?

Windows 2000 Pro and Windows 98.

Debug only works 1st time, then stops.. I know how this sounds but is true!

This problem only happens with UDF's not forms.

For info CABC are not the company who originally sold us Maximiser.

CABC have provided us with excellent support as far as they are able - considering we didnt purchase the software from them. ( I wish we had) thanks CABC.
