Hello all, Im helping a friend setup a backup system for her home based business and she's a long term Maximizer user. She's currently running Maximizer Enterprise 8.0 on a single system.
I have everything working a-ok except there doesnt appear to be the ability to automate Maximizers built-in backup function, nor an included utility to do so. The manual simply says "Use the backup function". As anyone knows, relying on human habit for backups is just about the worst thing you can do.. Im basically stunned at the lack of such a feature in what I understand should be mature software. I found a single thread that recommended the use of some Pervasive software, but the only Pervasive backup I can find on the web is yet another $250.. Any suggestions to make this happen are greatly appreciated. ps.. Anyone have a Maximizer suggestions /comments email address? I poked around their website but they kept wanting to charge me money to talk to anyone.. Thanks, Brett Fraser |

Hi Brett,
Did you check out my earlier post at: Backup? The pervasive command line utility butil comes with the Maximizer Pervasive installation. No need to purchase the GUI Pervasive backup program. Cheers Roland |

Or just use any regular backup tool to back up the contents of your Address Book folder(s). That's all we do, works fine. The extra you get with the Maximizer backup is that it reindexes, etc. Not sure of the extra benefits of the Pervasive backup.
