Hi all, tried to get Max 9 Ent and MaxExchange up and running for a friend today.. Heres where Im at:

Was running Max 8 Ent previously.

She's got one desktop and one laptop, she bought a workgroup license so she can use the laptop on the road.. I uninstalled everything from Max 8, installed Max 9 Server.. upgraded the address book from within Admin and that much seems ok on the desktop..

On the laptop I installed Max 9 workstation, and , as the book told me to, created a new address book, specifying the Desktops existing address book as it's location.. (mapped drive M:\ on the laptop, ...\Maximizer\AddrBk on the desktop)

Great! I could open the address book on the laptop and the desktop now and all seemed good.

Assigned pervasive and workgroup license and opened/closed the address book in Admin to tie the license to it..

-- heres my problem

Installed MaxExchange on the server.. added the MaxExch license to my main list.. then in Admin, opened and closed a sample addr book to assign that license to it.. that went ok, but when I tried to open/close my main address book.. Admin tells me "not at this location" .. because its trying to point to M:\... the laptops specified path for my main address book.. not the server that Im on..

now when I try and open my main addr book on the laptop, i get a "address book created in earlier version of Max, upgrade and try again" .. but it opens ok on the Desktop..

any suggestions as to where to go from here? Is there a data file somewhere that I can edit to change where Max thinks an address book is stored? (you'd THINK it'd be in admin.. but it doesnt appear to be)

argh.

thanks,

Brett
