We have Maximiser 5.1 with MS SQL 7.0 backend and are having significant speed problems when retrieving udf's. We are considering moving to Pervasive SQL, has anyone else experienced similar issues ? We have downloaded a trial version of Pervasive, does anyone have instructions on converting from MS SQL so we can perform some tests before deciding which route to take. | ||

Hi Gary, The easy way to get your data from the SQL version of Maximizer to the Pervasive version is to back up the data in Maximizer SQL and then restore it into the Pervasive version. This will let you make your comparisons, to make your comparisons fair however, you will want to make sure you use the column views on each test etc as Maximizer queries only the fields it needs to show to the screen initially a slip here could affect your test quite significantly. Before you undertake the cost logistics of moving the system maybe you should try speaking to Ian here at CABC as he has had some success before with tuning the SQL version to get better performance.
