Does any body know of any problems associated with installing and running Maximizer 6.0 on a Windows XP Laptop and Desktop?

I have Max 6.0 running on my laptop in an XP environment. The only problems I have had are related to our LAN and a centralised database. I have had no problems when using a local database.

Hi All, I have experienced no serious difficulties with run version 6.0 on Windows XP. I suspect it is not supported as WinXP was released very soon after or around the time version 6.0 was and hence it has not been fully tested. Regards CABC Support

I have just installed Windows XP SP1 and am running Maximizer v6.0 with Service Pack 3. Since installing the XP SP1, I find that searching on a range does not appear to work. The range window pops up fine, and allows me to enter the range criteria, but when I press enter the range is wiped out. If I go on and continue the search, a selection is made but I have no idea on what basis. Any ideas before I back out the XP upgrade?

The following is taken from Multiactives knowledge base at www.Multiactive.com with details about addressing this problem. Reference # 020222-000000 quote: Regards Maxtalk Administrator

Disabling the OCR software fixed it. I did not have Omnipage Pro (as suggested in the Multiactive article) but the effect was the same. Also, for any other readers, I did NOT get all of the other symptoms - so if you are getting just one or two, it is also worth trying the suggested fixes.
