Hi We run ME9 using Companies and Contacts. Currently when contacts leave an address, we leave them in the address book but add a note saying they have left address and adjust a mailing list UDF to No. Due to the changing nature of our customers and a large quantity of inactive contacts - we are toying with the idea of hitting the delete key on them, but feel unsure about it (although we know the notes and doucments stay with the company). How do other companies deal with contacts who are no longer active? Thanks Kanga

We put "old" in front of first and last name and leave them in database. (ie - "Stephanie Smith" becomes "oldStephanie oldSmith"). That keeps all Notes associates with correct person, and by searching on Last Name = *Smith we can see Stephanie's moves through the various companies in our market. It also gives us a source entry to copy into another Company as a Contact (maintaining UDF's, etc.). - R.
