We have regular Maxmizer 9. We are starting to look at using the Opportunities section. Besides the neat features already in there, we want to add some user defined fields, like Date of First Contact, Date of Proposal, etc.

I want to create a report that lists some of the "Opportunity" regular fields as well as some of the user defined fields I create for the opportunity. But I see if I create a particular column view and then create a Column Report that I only get 12 columns, though I guess I can have multiple fields in a column, and then I can carefully play with the font sizes to make it all fit in a landscape letter or legal sheet.

Is there an easier way than this that I'm not seeing. Would Crystal Reports (which I haven't tried) solve this or would it be really buggy about it (which I've heard?)

In the version of Maximizer you are running you are indeed limited on the number of columns you can have in a view, there are three ways to move forward from here.

1. As you mentioned you could get round this with Crystal Reports, the potential issue here is that unless you are quite familiar with the application Crystal can be quite unfriendly.

2. As 1 but you have a business partner design and program the report for you (CABC offer a custom report service).

3. Consider an upgrade to the current version of Maximzier, v10, which allows unlimited columns in a view and has a one touch 'Export to Excel' button for reporting purposes.

If Crystal Reports is quite unfriendly (and from what very limited experience I have it is), why does Max even bother with it?

Crystal Reports is a powerful reporting tool. There is a trade-off between being "unfriendly" to the novice and being an "industrial-strength" tool for the advanced user.

Regarding the last post from "CABC Support", I *strongly* recommend option 3. Custom reporting against a Pervasive database is definitely not a place you want to go.

While the package may be unfriendly to a novice it is, as Gord says, on of the most powerful reporting tools on the market and one of the only tools that can function equally well when designing a report for MS SQL or Pervasive.

I am having a similar problem to this. I am wanting to export all email addresses of contacts associated with an opportunity to excel. I have been unsuccessful in reporting this out of the 'normal' reports. Does anyone have any tips/suggestions on how I can do this?
