Are there any other CRM solutions that are good?

I laughed when I saw your post. I'm here because I've tried the other solutions. Here has been my experience - all purchased packages:

(1) Act 2005 - I like the software, just too slow for me. http://webx.act.com for discussion forum.

(2) Quickbooks Customer Manager. The best opening screen that I have seen. However, I wonder if the company is serious about CM - not listed as a product on the home page, many stores do not carry it with Quickbooks and when they do, frequently it is presented as a free addon, Appointments and ToDos do not have disposition codes (was it done?) and email mail merge is not available (no kidding). http://www.quickbooksgroup.com/webx/forums/customer_manager/

(3) Goldmine - might be a good one to look at, but staying away until the new version is out to make sure GM does not suffer performance issues like Act. Ordered the trial version CD and experimented until time ran out.

(4) Time & Chaos - actually using this at least until I figure out Maximizer enough to use. Like QB Customer Manager does not have disposition codes for Appointments and ToDo Items, but has other codes available to possibly work around. Quick, fast, does not use a separate database engine (very good thing for single user). Not sure, but suspect that Maximizer's more advanced capabilities may sway me off of T & C to Maximizer, but I'll say this again - T & C is fast and easy.

(5) Maximizer 8 - hoping it will be great, hard to learn, if not for this forum, it would be collecting dust. So far the issues have not been whether Maximizer can do something or not, but figuring out how Maximizer does it and which one of the options would I like.

That's what I have looked at - how about you?

I've tried a few of the other one's as well.

SalesLogix- Synch software is horrible and unreliable. Interface is very confusing to end users. Software is very customizable though.

Microsoft CRM - Stay far, far away from this package. It is still too new and they are going through some serious growing pains. The biggest of which is that it won't sync with any accounting package without having to purchase a third party addon. I tried to sync between MS CRM and Great Plains (another Microsoft product) and after 6 months of dealing with Microsoft, even THEY couldn't get it to work. They finally admitted that the sync didn't work and they had no intention of fixing it until at least release 2 or 3!!

So far Max has been the least troublesome of all of the packages I have tried.

We have experience of Goldmine, Maximiser, CRM Vision and MS CRM. We were swapping from CRM Vision to Maximiser and would have preferred, in principle, to go for MS CRM but version 1.0 was not ready.

We recently reviewed MS CRM Version 3 and it's come a long way but it appeared to promise alot but didn't offer enough to change.

As a whole Maximiser is one of the most appropriate and best fit CRM system.

I am single user, I first want to do more. So with my outlook I start to buibd stuff with Journal there, took me long time to get to do something good. Then it was just not enough. I tought about ACT. Then I discover that recently MS came out with a outlook upgrade called BCM Business contact manager. I whent try it, look good. Then it did not sync with my PALM (it was my first strike), then they said click here to get a palm driver. Never found it on their site for a whole day. Nothing on PALMone.com I tought about NEW ACT 2006. Then I try it. WOW 550 MHZ to run it. Too big, too slow. I said to myselve maby version 2005. WOW so crap that they do not even offer it to download trial.
I was desesperate, but God wanted to help me so much. When I was looking around I click several time to Maximizer, I find it anoying because it was alway into google.com .One morning I said: I never eard about it, why not check? I looked at demo, I was on my knels, I could'n believe it PALM compatible, QB compatible. I download trial. Tryed it, it was fantastic, user friendly. I still running demo and it is a charm.
Thanks God.

Running maximizer 9 since February 17, 2006, with QB link.
