Hi, Cheryl.

Maximizer Enterprise 5 is ancient history. You can't buy new licenses for it, it wasn't designed to run on current operating systems (i.e. Win2K/XP), and it is no longer supported.

Hi, Cheryl - to elaborate on what Gord said, the decision needs to be between Max and Max Enterprise, not different versions of each. If I were you I'd compare it on a feature list basis - one small business might need campaign management (in Enterprise only) while another might not, in which case basic Max is fine - that is certainly the case with our company.

To factor in versions, I'd normally say compare current versions of each, but version 8 of both appear to have stability issues at the moment, while version 7 of each appear to be fine.

So :

- It's not a small/large business decision, it's a requirements list decision
- You might want to try implementing version 7 for now; Whether you should do the feature comparision between version 7 or version 8 of each depends on your needs

Maximizer 5 was much more stable than 8 in my experience.

Max 5 may have seemed more stable, but it did not have half the features that are in the product now, and anyone remember the constant error code 2's that occured in Max 5. It was the old btrieve 6.15 engine that caused that data corruption. Once they switched to pervasive that no longer happened.

Voted most likely to be a Hill Billy, Mental Patient or Chimpanzee.
