Please excuse me if I'm missing something really easy here, but:

How does one combine more than one address book and keep contacts, notes and hotlist as well. I can only so far see how to import a text file.

Do I have to ODBC to MS Access and do the data chopping there or is there a utility/command that I can get from somewhere to do this?

Normally that is done using

File > Transfer

See the topic "transferring data between Maximizer Address Books" in the online Help.

To Merge two address books you do have to use the Maxmizer Transfer Facility (This is different from Import) as referenced below.

Make a list of the addressbook entries to transfer eg view/all clients & individuals. Select them all ie. Edit/Select All then use File/Transfer. Choose the addressbook to send the records into and logon to it. if you have full rights in the target (where the data's going to ) use your account if not use Master.

There are then a few options which you can probably best leave as the defaults. All the clients and all the linked contacts documents etc will be copied to the other address book.

CAUTION: if the data in one addressbook is a old copy of the target maximizer may merge some of the records. This will only happen if the Company name and Identification are identical.

If your not sure about this sort of operation is best to make a copy database or a few little test databases and experiment before you blat loads of contacts into you main live database.
