Hi all, newbie here so please bear with me. I cant seem to figure out how to search for a partial name in maxfinder. For example say i have an entry under "joe smith" and i want to search by just the word "smith". Maxfinder seems unable to do so, and will only search from the beginning of the field, so it will find "joe" okay, but will return nothing for "smith". I've tried all partial syntax variations i can think of, like "*smith*" or "+smith", but still no joy. I know the search function within maximizer itself will work using the *<word>* syntax, but is this type of partial search just not possible with maxfinder? Any help appreciated.

I have found the same problem. Maximizer has been this way for a long time. Outlook's search capabilities are far superior, however, the pros far out weigh the cons with Maximizer!

Another possible approach to dealing with searches like this would be to use the specific search options found within Maximizer. If you go to the address book and then click the Search Menu you can select 'Last Name' as an option and then just type in smith, this will then search by last name rather than full name and should return what you are looking for.
