I am trying to create a quote template in Word as the formatting required is a bit beyond the Maximizer Word Processor capabilities.
I followed the instructions; opened up Maximizer, opened up word and used the merge fields icon on the toolbar to insert my merged fields. However, it won't let me insert fields when I am in the contact Window (which is where I usually am when I want to write something to a particular person). If I go into the address window I can get merge fields in. However, it inserts the details for the record I am on. Even if I scroll through records it doesn't change. It seems to be taking the value and dropping it in, not inserting the merge field which is what I need for a template. I am using Maximizer Enterprise 7.5, Windows XP and Office 2000. I can't help thinking I am doing something dumb here - this used to work under Max 5.5, Windows 98 and Office 97. If I open up my old templates from there, they work fie under the current configuration, but I can't add any new merge fields to these.
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks
Zarina

I can't really comment on the Maximizer DDE Word Integration as we ditched it along time ago.

Can i temp you to try one of our add-ons?
You can download an Eval here

CABC Add-ons

The Program is MaxDoc, and it has the functionality and ease of use of the Maximizer word processor Merge functions e.t.c. but with the power of Word (i.e. it uses Word!)

Also you can merge to the Contact fields as well as Address book list!

I figured it out (finally) - there's a little checkbox labelled "link" that needs to be checked. You'd think they'd put that in the instruction manual! When is someone going to write a decent book for Maximizer - their own manuals are terrible!
Hope no-one minds me replying to my own posts...I just thought once I had figured it out I should share my experience in case anyone else is having the same problems.
