Does anyone know how the fields in Max8 match up to Outlook 2003. An expample of what I've seen is that a main address in Max is going to 'Other Address' address field in Outlook. If anyone knows how these 2 match up that would be greatly appreciated.

I too have been having synch problems between Max 8 and Outlook 2000. I ssems to get all of my fax numbers and company names but no addresses and no phone numbers. What is the add on that cna assist. BTW the ultimate objective is to sync Max with my Palm and my Blackberry. Using outlook as the channel seem a reasonable approach. Any thoughts anyone?

Why not use MaxLink and go straight Max <-> Palm? No need for using Outlook az middleman this way. Having said that, Outlook is way better to use for email, and at least in Max 7, Max/Outlook integration for email is very basic. - Rooster.

Maximizer sync's to Outlook 'other' address, although we don't know why. Also, the phone numbers sync to a weird set as well

My point is to cut Outlook out of the equation completely from a sync point of view. With MaxLink you install the Palm Desktop to get Hotsync Manager in place. Then you install MaxLink to get the Maximizer conduits in place. When you sync it goes directly between Max and your Palm PDA - Outlook is not part of that equation and never sees your Max Address Book entries. You can still use Outlook as an email client in Max File > Preferences > EMail so you get Outlook's email formatting capabilities (way better than the Max email client!), but all your contacts are managed in Max only. This gives you the added benefit of being able to drag emails from your Inbox onto Address Book entries so they become Documents in Max. Lots of other stuff as well - which is why our business does it this way. - R.

2 questions: 1) how would he get his info into Blackberry w/MaxLink 2) What is Max email client? As far as I can tell, Maximizer uses only outside email clients?!

Don't know about Blackberry - you'd have to check with Maximizer themselves. As for Max email client, go into File > Preferences > Email and there are two checkboxes for "Compose messages using EMail service provider's editor" and "Read messages using EMail service provider's editor". Uncheck those boxes and rty reading and composing email messages - you'll see what I've termed the Maximizer email client. Sorry if it's not an actual "client" - it looks that way to me from a user perspective. - R.

1) That is my point. If the user wants to use a Blackberry, they will have to sync with Outlook. 2) Maximizer does not have an email client. However, using their interface allows the use to link an outgoing email to the contact & record history. They can't do that using Outlook's (or any other email clients) interface.

We use Outlook's interface (eg - Read and Compose = Yes as per my Aug 13 post above) and have no problem saving the email to the Address Book entry's Documents (set "Save Copy" = Yes). In v7 It doesn't log it to any "history" as such (Notes?) but I believe it is supposed to in Max 8. - R.

When it comes to Maximizer's Functionality with a Blackberry perhaps you may want to consider the eCRM implementation as it comes with a low bandwidth wirelss portal that functions extremely well with mobile platforms like the blackberry. CABC Host a demo of the wireless portal that can be accessed from http://www.maximizer.org/
