with act imploding Frown maximizer seems like an excellent alternative. one thing that is making me crazy is "work day" does NOT display any info on the associated contact. Same thing in calendar "hotlist tasks". it is a waste screen space telling me I have 25 follow ups but not telling me with whom! I know you can click and a box pops up, but thats extra steps and defeats the purpose of a good overview screen & calendar it seems so obvious that contact info need to be displayed here i'm wondering if i have something set incorrectly? v 9.0

One thing i like about act was it gave great calendar screen views and print outs that detailed todo', calls and meetings WITH contact info and phone numbers - any way to do this in Maximizer?

Can't speak to v9, but we're using v7 and by default the Hotlist displays the contact and their company if a Hotlist Task is linked to that task. Is it possible you just haven't linked them?

The way to get the link is to go to the Address Book entry you want to create a Task for, right click on it and select Schedule (Call, To-Do or Meeting). That will give you an option in the Task dialogue box to link the Task to the Address Book entry you right clicked on or make it a Personal Hotlist Task which has no Address Book entry associated with it.

I think he is talking about the 'sidebar hotlist task' in the daily calendar view.

AFAIK, there isn't any setting that would allow the viewable details to change. Unfortunately, one of the limitations of Maximizer is it's calendar. Hopefully, you will find enough other positive features that will outweigh the few negatives

thanks for the responses,

yes it was the 'side bar hotlist task' as well as the "workday" view, selected from the left hand list of icons.

based on what Act has done to their product, you'll have little trouble convincing me of Maximizer's superiority. nevertheless, after almost 15 years of using Act, there are certain attributes that are very handy....perhaps someone at Maximizer is listening. adding this info to these screens these would be good examples of the software supporting a logical and convenient workflow, ie you are looking at a calendar telling you have have to call a bunch of people, it would be logical (to me at least) to have the phone number displayed.
