We are using Maxdoc 1.2 with Max 6 enterprise.
Our database has grown to in excess of 600Mb in 9 months. When backing up most of this seems to be "Letters" - which is strange.. I thought that using Maxdoc, all that was included/saved to Maximiser was a pointer to the Maxdoc file store.. Is this the case? If so why would the letters section of the database be increasing so much.. Also, we can purge docs from Max - but I understand this doesnt delete the actual document in the file store. How do you purge these..? Will Maxdoc have a purge feature soon? thanks Jason |

Are you saving Emails and Attachments as well as Documents, this could substantially increase your database size.
Also, if you save to Maximizer like you say, then you are effectivly saving to your MXZL.MAX file (your documents/letters file) which will make your database very large very quickly. One of the options after installing MaxDoc is to initilise and create a Filestore, i assume you have done this because you make reference to the Filestore. But from the sounds of it you are not saving to the filestore when you choose to save a document, you are saving to Maximizer which will, like I said, make your Documents/Letters file very large. Hi, no we dont save hardly anything to the Max store - a few emails maybe, but no attachments or other letters..
We only use the Maxdoc store - we never save Maxdocs to maximiser directly.. Whats the largest database you have seen / is viable? Also been looking at Max 7 with interest - the new portals / MS SQL options. It seems very expensive though.. comments? |
