Reply to "Madata6 Error"

Try searching for *.TMP files and delete them all.

I would also reel off a list of Service packs to try, but they wouldn't be needed for WinXP.

Is everyone getting the MaData6 error?

or is it just a few key machines?

If everyone, then what about the possibility of somesort of corruption within your data?

A Backup and restore sort of re-indexes the data. An optimised backup and restore works or you could create a blank new Maximizer 7 address book and to use the file>transfer>addressbook entries from your current address book to a newly created blank one (do File>New Address Book prior to doing a transfer, so you have a new available empty address book), this one will be ok as long as there are no opportunities.

Or alternatively you could make a full physical copy of your data. Load Maximizer, go to File>Open Address Book>Highlight your database and note the folder location. Then close Maximizer, load Windows Explorer and browse to where it said your database was and right click on the folder and select 'copy' then browse to some where safe (My Documents perhaps?) and do Edit>Paste (this will paste a copy of your data somewhere else incase this doesn't work)

Next create an empty folder to put your impending backups into then load the Admiistrator Module, if it try's to open the address book go to File>Close Address Book, when not in an address book go to Utilities>Backup address book folder and select your address book. Click Ok to all questions, but when it asks which File you want to backup, select 'All'.

When asked where you want to back up to, you can click on 'Browse' and backup to the new empty backup folder.

Once this is complete, you can go to Utilities>Restore Address Book folder, it is probably best to select an 'optimised Restore' choose the effected database again and then select 'all' files again, and then restore to your address book. Regardless of the warnings about destroying data, you have an identical copy in My Documents (I hope!).

When asked to locate your backup browse to the new folder that you previously created and backed up to.

This should re-index your data, which will enable it to run more efficiently
