We're using Max Enterprise 8 SR4a on Windows XP and my users cannot open attachments from e-mails which are saved into Max. When you click on say an MS Word attachment, Word opens with the error:

Word cannot open the document
Try one or more of the following :
1. Try Open from the File menu
2. Check that the file has a .doc extension
C:\DOCUME~1\USER~1.DOC

If you look in the users TEMP folder (local settings) the file is there and can be opened.

If the user is added to the Administrators group it works fine so it must be a permissions problem but i can't work out what it is.

Anyone got any ideas - my users cannot be admins.

Thanks in advance

I suspect that when Maximizer was installed that the Admin did it under their profile. One should temporarily give the user in question Admin rights - install Maximizer then switch back their rights to Power User. This should have the effect of the proper registry entries being made. If this is the case you may want to consider re-installing.

Thanks Iris but this is exactly how i installed it in the first place: promoted the user to administrator, installed and ran maximizer, removed user from admin group. and it still doesn't work.

There must be a file or registry permission required but I can't find what it is - surely Multiactive must test under standard user rights?
