Using Max 7 and Outlook 2000. Most of the time email sends fine. Sometimes you get an error "No transport provider was available" and all copies of the email are bounced back (don't go through).

It happens very inconsistently - sometimes one user has the problem while others don't, and this morning I could send emails fine all morning, then I got this error on a single email then it worked fine again. And the email was going to people who have received my messages fine in the past.

At one point we thought that changing the SMTP servier would fix the problem, but now it seems that was just a mask - the delay in changing the SMTP server is what probably what allowed the error to fix itself.

As an FYI we are not esing MS-Exchange for email, but PST files. However, if the issue was PST file related it would be isolated to specific users.

Any help will be appreciated - I hate these wildly inconsistent, impossible to replicate errors. It's been 3 years now ...
