I have search and found
ADDRESS BOOK ENTRIES:
When moving one company to another, if the source company had an opportunity with a contact, the contact would be lost. This issue has been resolved.

This is from the Service Release 1 for Maximizer Enterprise 9
if you go here you will be able to get the update. And hope you had a backup for your data.

It is a release for 01/09/2006 quite new. And will fix other problems also.
