Maximizer connectivity

My boss got the Maximizer 8 some time ago. For some reason or other we cannot get the system on one computer to talk to another and cannot coordinate our tasks. The program is installed on two computers for now, but there is NO COMMUNICATION between them... What should we do?... Please advise...
