Hi

I have some 250 contacts in Outlook that I want to synch into Maximizer 10.5 which we recently bought.

I have been able to synch them, but when they come in they are all as individuals and do not automatically group by company name. How do I do this? I tried changing the primary name from Individual to Company.. works. Then I was totally puzzled how to change individuals who work for the company to appear as contacts within the company.

Also it seems that if you delete them in Maximizer they still exist in Outlook. Maximizer is no longer able to re-synch them. I had to change the category name to allow re-synch to happen. Is there another method of doing that?

Please assist.

Hi

Another observation is that the manual (which I went through step by step) states you can select whether the Outlook contacts are brought in as Companies/Contacts or Individuals. I have selected Company/Contacts yet they are all brought in as Individuals.

I need some urgent assistance on this as I do not know how to group them now into Companies and Contacts. Seems you can only turn Individuals into Companies. I tried this.. I converted 6 individuals all belonging to the same company into Companies. I then merged them one by one into the main contact. This seems to kind of work as it shows a company with contacts within. But the problem with this is it is both painful and evidently incorrect.

Pls help.
Jay-

You needed to have done a two-tier import. You will likely have to wipe and start again (or start again with a new DB)

Import your list, but tell it you wish to import "Companies" only (i.e., not contacts or individuals)

Once it completes, you should have all the companies into which the contacts will fit, but no contacts.

Now, do the same thing, but import only "Contacts". They will be inserted into the Company records.

NB: Do both functions with the same data set. If you have multiple people working for "ACME Corp", the first step will create the company (and ignore the remaining entries) and the second step will import all the users.

Good Luck.
