Hi All,

I'm not sure if this is possible or not, I assume it should work but i'm having an issue with trying to Link to a table/view in the maximizer database.

These are the steps I am taking in access:

-> File
-> Get external data
-> Link Tables
-> Select ODBC
-> Select Machine Data Source
-> Choose MAP_SI (our Maximizer Database) and OK
-> Select a table/view in this case AMGR_CLIENT
-> Select Client_Id as the "Unique Record Identifier"
-> Attempt to view the data in the table from within Access
-> Error of "ODBC--call failed. [Pervasive][ODBC Client Interface]Numeric value out of range. (#0)"

I've performed data verification through maximizer and it detects no problems at all in regards to mismatches in datatypes etc.

Is there any way to fix this problem? Am I going the right way about it?

Thanks for your help!

For reference sake, the "solution" was posted by Gord on another forum.

Better off upgrading to Max V10 with SQL or

quote:
It's possible... under the right circumstances... but Pervasive ODBC (the "MAP_" DSN) will probably not do what you want.

Maximizer ODBC might, but it has its own idiosyncrasies. The first of those is described in the section entitled "Two versions of Maximizer ODBC Driver File" in

C:\Program Files\Maximizer\Readme.txt
