A client is getting maxwin.exe access violation errors when running Address Book transfers. Circumstances are:-
WinNT4 Server using SQL7. Wishing to consolidate 5 departmental SQL Address Books into one corporate SQL Address Book using Address Book transfer. The corporate Address Book is a new database with all the users and user groups set up and all the UDF's fields transferred across, then all table field items deleted.
Whatever order we do the Address Book transfers during the 3rd, sometimes the 4th we get the maxwin.exe access violation error. We have tried SQL to SQL, btrieve to SQL and SQL to btrieve but at some stage the crash will occur. As a test we successfully transferred each Address Book into a fresh blank one each time without problem.
The maximum number of records in each Address Book is 2000 companies, 3500 contacts, 3000 notes, few letters, 30 UDF's. However, one UDF table field called "Client Name" can contain several thousand items. Also each Address Book has 500 agency companies all with the same names and ID's which combine automatically during transfer. The agency contacts, with the same name, within these agency companies also combine. The agency contacts have the "Client Name" table UDF which again combine giving upto 12 items per contact.
Any experiences, ideas, tips and hints I would be desperately grateful.
Best Regards,
Adrian Berman
