Hi, Wondering if any small business/owner-operators have moved up to Max CRM 11 Entrepreneur and are accessing their Maximizer database on their cell/smartphone/blackberries?

I'm a single person business. My Maximizer database is on my laptop. My laptop is usually with me when I'm out of the office so there is nothing for my smartphone to connect to back "in the office".

I understand I can sync Maximizer contacts to Outlook on the laptop then sync Outlook to contacts on the smartphone.

But I don't see a way to carry or have access to my notes. I don't see a way to sync notes to Outlook contacts. Presently I'm using MaxMobile Lite with CRM 10, but Maximizer is no longer supporting MaxMobile Lite. I only need to read my notes, I don't need to update them on the smartphone, I can update them back in the office.

Any thoughts? Stick with CRM 10?

I have answered my own question.

I spent another day reading the content at Maximizer.com. I have to say there is a tremendous lack of specificity on the website and lots of circular references. http://www.maximizer.com/crm/

For the entrepreneur I see no advantage to upgrading to CRM 11 from version 10. I welcome anyone to correct me on this.

Reading the Maximizer website, my initial understanding was that CRM 11 Entrepreneur offered web access to the database. I had a plan to start keeping notes in MS-Notes and out of Maximizer and drop MaxMobile Lite and just use the Windows Mobile contact address book. I spent the past week checking out a new smartphone (Windows Mobile or Android as both are mentioned as working with CRM 11).

From the Maximizer website, I understood that access via the web is included with CRM 11. If you use BlackBerry, you have to buy CRM Mobile. All set, ready to put down my money. Today I installed the 15 day demo of CRM 11 Entrepreneur but for the life of me could not figure out how to activate web access to the database.

More hours of going around in circles on the Maximizer website, I finally get to http://www.maximizer.com/crm/editions.html where it reveals that web access is only available for the top two tier products: Group and Enterprise. Entrepreneur doesn't offer web access and Team version offers access only via Blackberry. I wish this was made clear up front and that the promo material did not give the impression CRM 11 regardless of version offers access via web.

So for now I'll stick with MaxMobile lite on the smartphone and CRM 10. However, a bigger problem, I have recommended a 5 seat license of Entrepreneur to a client with the understanding their Mac users will be able to access the database via web browser. This will not be the case now.
I have had this same issue, believing that i would be able to access my maximizer databases with my smartphone. It is part of the reason i chose this software, and my smartphone. I am not overly impressed with the lack of clarity on the website, or the level of customer service by the Maximizer people.

Here are a few of the quotes on the website that i feel were misleading:

"Mobile CRM for real-time access through virtually any web browser-enabled smartphone including Windows Mobile, Google Android and Nokia (Symbian OS) smartphones."

Then they tell me that the mobile version is only available to me through Blackberry.

"•Wireless Access is included when you purchase Maximizer CRM"

There is no mention that this applies only to certain versions of maximizer CRM

and today i found this on downloads through cnet:

Maximizer CRM Entrepreneur Edition is the contact manager for entrepreneurs & small businesses that helps you maximize your time, create satisfied customers, and increase your sales. It's simple to set-up, easy to use, and works with other tools in your business, including BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, & Palm devices, QuickBooks accounting, Outlook e-mail, Word, & Excel.
Will kind of agree with on the info on the website but since I didn't read it all or comb through the site reading it I can't really pass judgement there. But we have Enterprise version 11 and just want to mention a few things. There are 4 ways to access the data outside of the client the Web Application, MaxMobile, MaxMobile(Wireless), Max Portal.

Web Application - is a web based Client almost identical to the desktop Client that allows access to your entire database.
MaxMobile - is a Smartphone Client Application that you can Access "Selected" data directly on the Smartphone that you transferred onto the device via a USB port from your laptop.
MaxMoblie(Wireless) - is a Smartphone Client Application that you can Access your data directly on the Smartphone and the data is synchronized with your data on your Server via Max wireless synchronization server back at the office. Do not confuse the wireless synchronization server for MaxExchange synchronization server, they are different installs.
MaxPortal - a small strip down web interface to access the entire database on your server. But Still has full access to all of your Clients info, Notes, Oppotunites, Tasks, Calendar, Dashboard, Customer Service cases. Only searchable by Company Name or Last Name. search for "Smith" and ouch! Needs a secondary search field or and advanced search.

We have tried the web application in and outside the office however, it's a bit slower then the desktop client. We just upgraded to 11 and we currently are still using the MaxPortal via Blackberry. However, we do plan to launch MaxMobile but since just upgraded we have not gotten there yet. Also Palm support was faded out of version 11.
