Assigning contacts to companies if company is created after

I have several contacts in my database that I have been in communication with for a while. They recently joined a company that is also in my database. It seems I can relate the entries, but not directly add this contact with all of their information to the companies entry. Is there a way to do this without creating a brand new contact under the company? Thanks.

You can move contacts by dragging them onto the new company record in the addressbook window.

You do not always want to move people as the history that goes with them really relates to the previous employment and is lost from that Company. It is therefore often preferable to retain the original contact in some form and to have a new contact at the new location.
