Hi,
I'm encountering this problem with Maximizer CRM10. When I do a quick backup, I get the error message "Problem encountered when trying to backup SQL Database mycontacts". I noticed I hadn't backed up in over a year (it's not an automatic backup?). I've tried from within Maximizer and from Administrator. Backup used to work.

If this is "quick backup" is there a regular backup?

Alternatively, if I backup the SQL database itself, where do I find the SQL database? I searched but I don't know the name and nothing comes up when I search for "SQL". I don't know any thing about databases, I'm assuming SQL is like a warehouse and there may be different databases stored in the warehouse, not just Maximizer files.

My alternative for backup is to make a disk image of my C: and d: drives and hope I've gota backup of Maximizer.

Windows 7 64 bit.

thanks,
-Tony

The most likely reason for quick back-up not to be working is that you are attempting to save the back-up on a disc other than the C: drive eg a USB disc or network drive. SQL often does not have the correct access to execute the back-up. Make the back-up on the c: drive and copy the files to the external drive. If it fails to work on the c: drive check that the target folder does not have data compression enabled.

A scheduled back-up can be run as a windows task scheduler operation using suitable batch files. We normally provide this on systems we have installed and could provide you with this as a support incident from www.crmshop.co.uk if required.
