We have Maximizer 8 running on five WinXP SP2 boxes since we "upgraded" in October, 2004. We have had one problem after another, which we have been able to sort-out, except for this one.

After routinely backing-up and restoring our primary address book, everything opens and works fine for a day. The second day after the restore, we get the attached error message on all the machines that had previous versions of Btrieve/Pervasive installed, but not on the newest machine, which was a clean install. After clicking OK a few times, the address book usually opens, but sometimes maximizer completely freezes.

Everything now on our servers has been created by the same version of Maximizer/Pervasive. I can only imagine that there is some registry entry or something lurking around from a previous version of Maximizer/Pervasive/Btrieve. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Gord,

Thanks for your reply. We followed these steps back in October to get Maximizer working in the first place. (Initially we had simply backed-up the address books and un-installed from the Control Panel, without cleaning-up the registry, before installing ver 8. It didn't work at all until we followed these steps.)

BTW, our IT person printed out all those registry keys before deleting them. IIR, there were 52 pages of them! He said he had never seen anything like it.
